| The acceptation
of our differences as a source of a potential enrichment
rather than a source of conflict remain an ideal which
is possible but difficult to attain. The obstacle lies
in the very nature of mind.
Because when we approach the others
with our intellect, our concepts and prejudices, our
differences become a source of conflict.
Differences are unbearable for those whose master is
their mind. They want to dictate at all costs their
point of view and their own truth.
Mind leads an unceasing crusade against
tolerance, against the others. It wants to evangelize,
to colonize and to dominate physically, psychologically
and even spiritually. Mind only knows that might is
right.
Those who are led by their mind always
want to impose their point of view on somebody and they
go as far as to make laws and force the others to accept
them. In fact, what mind really wants is to impose its
own beliefs.
It is in the name of belief that one
slanders, tortures, enslaves or murders.
Belief is the opposite of truth and
even when you believe in something that is true, this
doesn't make you the owner of this truth. In fact beliefs
bring about an enormous gap between you and reality.
A belief is a supposition, an assumption ; truth is
an experience, an experienced reality. And truth doesn't
need any fight, it doesn't impose itself but is revealed
to those who are willing to hear it.
Truth can be discovered and experienced unlike belief
which belongs to imagination, superstition, concepts
and phantasms only resorting to force and violence to
impose itself.
For instance, if you believe in love,
that obviously means that you have never experienced
true love. Because the day when love shows in your life,
belief soon fades out in front of knowledge. And then
you don't believe any more - you simply know and enjoy
love.
In other words when you believe, you can't know the
truth.
Beliefs mean separation from reality because reality
is beyond beliefs and suppositions.
Reality IS, that's all, and it doesn't
need your approval to exist, as beliefs do.
The opinions, beliefs admitted by the
majority have legitimated colonization, slavery and
racial, cultural, religious and gender discrimination.
And the list is not exhaustive… There are so many
reasons to stop fighting with pipe dreams.
Fortunately, it is still possible to
make another choice. We can consider differences as
an opportunity to grow and blossom. So if we approach
others with our heart first rather than with the intellect,
then our differences will attract each other and then
we will be thirsty for partake and exchange. Then we
will be willing to discover what is marvellous in the
other person and to really and mutually get enriched
from our differences.
This is the way we understand that
the world in its rich diversity is beauty, and that
beauty doesn't belong to anyone but every one is a little
part of it. That the beauty of this world lies precisely
in its wide variety.
And tolerance is the only way to really
and mutually enrich each other. It is also the best
way to free ourselves from beliefs in order to attain
knowledge one day.
We also realize that we must abandon
the erroneous idea that it is possible to reach Truth
through mind. Truth can be attained only through our
awakening conscience.
At this stage, we understand that differences
exist only at the surface of our being as waves which
unceasingly go over and over. Their beauty or their
wickedness is simply a matter of interpretation. A purely
subjective look .
And when we stop identifying ourselves
with the waves, we realize that in reality we are the
ocean, the immutable sea. And that unity, Truth is hidden
behind this apparent diversity. And we all are that.
