| There
is no bigger mistake than focusing on the others' so-called
defects. First because judging the others is with no
doubt the best way to make your ego stronger. Faultfinding
towards the others gives you an impression of superiority.
On second hand, we are totally unable to judge the other.
Our reasoning is arbitrarily conditioned by our social
and cultural background. We do not think in terms of
Universal Truths which can be accessed only when you
reach a high level of wisdom. And this wisdom, source
of tolerance, precisely takes us away from the temptation
of making judgements. The wise man knows that man perceives
the world through the prism of his mind and senses,
as long as he does not reach conscience awakening.
Finally, and certainly the most important
reason, our focusing on what we consider as faults in
other people's attitudes takes us away from the essential
: our own faults. We should be convinced that everything
we find detestable in the others exists as well within
ourselves.
Discovering this truth teaches us humility.
This is the way we understand that our essential duty
is to transform ourselves.
We progress focusing all our energy
and our attention on improving ourselves and not sacrificing
our time trying to find out and correct other's faults.
By this wise understanding one day
we can reach conscience awakening.
