| Contrary
to the simplistic and propagandist words of Mister BUSH,
the struggle he plans to lead is not the battle of the
Good against Evil.
The true emissaries of peace as President
J.F. KENNEDY and especially Martin LUTHER KING were
not killed by religious fanatical terrorists. They were
muredered by the highest officials of american government.
By those who pretend today to be the incarnation of
Good. We should not forget it…
Mister Bush probably also forgets that
the man he points out as the most dangerous terrorist
of the planet is partly a creation of the leaders of
the United States of America who used him a few years
ago in other just as sordid wars. But at this time,
these crimes were profitable for the interests of american
policy.
I certainly do not intend to try and
minimize the horrendous acts that were perpetrated on
September 11 in the USA. However, I wish to draw your
attention on the fact that horror is not only on the
side of the terrorists, as we are influenced to believe.
The horror is also to impose an embargo
on a whole country, such as Irak, depriving people from
the first necessity products they need, and from several
years, sentencing to death thousands of innocent children,
and condemning others to disability. And all this pretending
to weaken a dictatorship of which the entire Iraqui
people is already victim.
The horror and the height of cynism
is also to refuse to make radical or at least minimum
decisions to reduce pollution when you are the most
polluting country of the planet, and by this way jeopardize
the future generations. And all this uniquely because
of a mercantile logics that prevail over any other consideration.
The horror is also to see that one
of the major health problems today in the United States
is obesity, while millions of people continue to starve
today elsewhere in the world. And meantime, the poorest
countries still grow poorer and the aid funds from the
rich countries continue to decrease…
As far as I am concerned, I can see
no fundamental difference between a terrorist such as
Mister BEN LADEN and a leader who pretends to be "honorable"
such as Mister BUSH. The former has joined the Maquis
and uses the weapon of terrorism, the latter is almighty
and legitimate, and uses the Constitution when it suits
him, often to commit more important crimes.
The former is a religious fanatic,
the latter reveals himself as a fundamentalist at the
service of profit, of money. We denounce with just cause
the religious fundamentalists, but it is time to also
realize that we are governed by mercantile ultra fundamentalists
whose main goal is the maximum profit, no matter what
it takes to gain it.
Through these two men, Mister BUSH and Mister BEN LADEN,
I can see the two sides of a same face, the face of
horror, cynicism, fundamentalism, hatred… actually
of ignorance.
No serious solution will ever come
to light as long as hypocrisy of the leaders rule this
world. They will continue to engender selfishness, violence
and ambition in their own image and they can only lose
control of the situations they have created.
No, the crusade Mister BUSH is going
to lead is certainly not the war between Good and Evil.
It is simply and sadly a fratricidal battle between
two faces of Evil that are both abject and which outcome
brings no reassuring prospect.
