| Yes,
two thousands years ago, it was much more difficult
to claim to be the disciple of Jesus-Christ than it
is today.
At that time, one had to be brave to listen to His word
of Truth.
For Jesus-Christ was calling into question unambiguously
the dogmas of the Church and its leaders.
Very few were the ones who believed in Jesus-Christ
!
And even fewer were the ones who didn't deny Him !
Everybody seems to forget today that
Jesus was regarded by the Scribes and the Pharisees,
and by most of the believers, as a heretic, and that
as such He was crucified !
All the Church big names saw in Jesus a dangerous "guru"
as they say pejoratively today.
For the Master was calling into question the power they
were so keen on.
Actually those men were only defending their status,
their privileges, and this was much more important in
their eyes than Truth itself they nevertheless claimed
to serve.
They were doing so, because it is much
easier to be at the service of an ideology, a dogma,
than of Truth itself. They were not defending the Scriptures
to be at the service of Truth, but so as to use Truth
to impose their authority. Denominational schools have
always used the Holy Scriptures to enslave the people,
claiming to be representatives of the Church of God.
And nothing has changed to this day!
Yes, still today, many people claim
to be disciples of Christ because they ritually recite
prayers and they know the Bible by heart.
But I tell you,
The true disciples of the Christ are
not the ones who learn the Bible by heart, but the ones
who read it with their heart !
The true disciples of the Christ are
not the ones who recite prayers by heart, but the ones
who pray with their heart !
The true disciples of the Christ are
not the ones who know His teaching by heart, but the
ones who put it into practice with their heart !
This is the way you recognize the true
disciples of the Christ.
Your friend,
Amedee
